Why Steel, and Why 1.5 Hours
A fire door is rated as a complete assembly, so a viewer that softens or warps in heat breaks the barrier it was meant to preserve. The 4014 series is built from high-strength alloy steel with a melting point exceeding 1370 degrees, holding its shape under fire-test conditions that cause brass or aluminium viewers to melt. Each model is certified for 1.5 hours (90 minutes) of fire resistance, and the F4014G cover is certified on the same basis rather than borrowing the rating of the viewer behind it. That is what lets a specifier treat viewer and cover as one rated component.
Four Models, One Tube, Four Thickness Bands
All four 4014 viewers share a 14 mm tube and a 32 mm head, so the only variable left is leaf thickness: 4014-35-50-AB for 35-50 mm, 4014-40-60-CP for 40-60 mm, 4014-60-80-G for 60-80 mm and 4014-70-90-AC for 70-90 mm. Standard finish follows the part number, AB antique brass, CP chrome plated, G gold plated and AC antique copper, and the series is also offered in SC, SN, PB or ORB. Because tube size stays constant, a thicker door simply takes a longer threaded tube and mounts flush without loose, non-compliant adaptors. The F4014J steel extension tube covers intermediate depths.
Privacy Covers, Use Cases and Export Terms
The F4014G is a high-strength alloy steel cover with a 35 mm cover diameter that fits the 14 mm tube of any 4014 viewer. Its anti-surveillance shutter blocks reverse viewing from the corridor, and the chrome plated finish resists humidity and wear. Typical specifications are hotel corridor fire doors, high-rise residential exit doors, healthcare corridors and high-security commercial panels. CAD files and official UL compliance documentation go to engineering teams, production runs 30 to 45 days, and loading is FOB Ningbo, Shanghai or Tianjin. OUPU has made door hardware since 2001 in an ISO9001 certified plant of 7,000 m2.
