Brass Door Viewers

Machined solid brass door viewers with 12 mm or 14 mm tube diameters, offered in six door thickness ranges from 10 mm to 85 mm and five architectural finishes. Optional UL 1/3-hour and 1.5-hour fire ratings suit rated door assemblies.

What a Brass Door Viewer Does in a Door Assembly

A door viewer, or peephole, is a small optical device fitted through the door thickness so the occupant can identify a caller before opening. The housing, tube and head are machined from solid brass, so the thread stays rigid and lens alignment holds through repeated use. Brass also resists corrosion outdoors, which suits apartment entrances, hotel guest rooms, office partitions and armored panels. Each viewer is a single threaded assembly for one thickness band, so the two halves join without loose couplings or stacked adapters.

Selecting the Right Model for Your Door Thickness

The 1012 series spans five thickness bands: 1012-10-15-PB fits 10-15 mm panels, 1012-16-25-AB 16-25 mm, 1012-25-38-CP 25-38 mm, 1012-35-55-ORB 35-55 mm and 1012-60-85-PB 60-85 mm, all with a 12 mm tube and 16 mm head. For a wider view, the 1012M1-35-60-SN fits 35-60 mm doors with a 27 mm head, while the 1014-35-60LG-CP raises the tube to 14 mm. Two accessories extend the range: the F1012G privacy cover adds an interior shutter to any 12 mm tube viewer, and the F1012J-20 adds a 20 mm threaded extension.

Material, Finish, Fire Rating and Manufacturing

Every model is machined from solid brass in one of five finishes: CP chrome plated, PB polished brass, AB antique brass, ORB oil rubbed bronze and SN satin nickel. Each can be ordered with an optional UL fire rating of 1/3 hour or 1.5 hour, which keeps a rated fire door assembly intact. OUPU has made door hardware since 2001 and runs an ISO9001 certified plant of 7,000 m2 producing 800,000 units a year. OEM and ODM cover specification changes, finish selection, laser marking and private branding.

Yes. Every model in this range can be ordered with an optional UL fire-resistant rating of 1/3 hour or 1.5 hour, which allows the viewer to be installed in a rated fire door assembly without breaking its certification. State the required rating in your enquiry so the correct configuration is quoted.
